His love for children has its roots in a time when he was gathering research data in a small village in Tanzania when he came upon a group of three boys playing in the street. What is your favorite dish, he inquired during his talk with them. He became curious as to whether his query had offended any of the kids after their prolonged silence. A few minutes later, one of the children said, "We don't get to eat every day, so every food is our favorite," which brought him to tears and sparked a deep-seated concern in his heart for the welfare of the children. This is when he realized his responsibility to step in and assist kids in finding protection, hope, and other necessities of life. From that point on, he committed his life to being a steward for children and people in need, both directly and through the organizations he had the privilege of working with to accomplish the same mission.
